socks!
with my first big project being over with, i've found myself a little lost for what to do. there aren't sleeves i just have to finish lying around somewhere? or something i need to figure out how to seam up? odd! rather than picking up the hourglass sweater, i decided to work on something smaller, like socks.
embarrassingly enough, i thought i had finished this pair a long time ago, and found it while i was rummaging in the stash bin looking for some other sock yarn. whoops. well, now they're done, and i'll be sending them off to my mom tomorrow, since they were supposed to be gifted.. again with the ooops. sometimes i'm a lousy daughter. =)
another sock that has been sitting around, partnerless.. the jaywalker! last night i cast on for the second sock, and it actually feels pretty new and exciting, since it's been so very long since i worked on the first one. this is supposed to be my travelling sock, for when i go to pittsburgh on my birthday to indulge in birthday festivities, and the yarn harlot having an event there. (i'd go on about how completely excited i am about that, but it's more than two weeks away. i will contain myself. for now..)
anyhow, i don't think it'll remain my travelling sock - while it's an easy enough pattern, i still have to remember to count so as to put my double decrease in the right place. and i have to look at it pretty frequently to make sure the needle isn't going in the wrong place. so i'm considering starting another sock, just something plain, mostly ribbing or stockinette.
and, one last picture of rogue, enjoying my now snow-free balcony!

Socks rawk. So much that I'm not gonna do any work tonight and I'm going to knit one!
